The firm has a long tradition. Dr. Arthur Ullrich, Patent Attorney, founded the firm in Berlin back in 1929. After the war, the firm was moved to Heidelberg. Dr. Thurmod Ullrich joined the firm in 1957. After 1971, the firm was run as a regional law firm with colleagues in Munich for a few years. Patent attorney Dr. Ulrich Naumann joined as a partner in 1989. In 1993, patent attorney Dr. Thomas Maisch joined the firm. Since 2000, our law firm has been providing the full range of legal services in intellectual property law with lawyers who practice exclusively in the fields of intellectual property law and competition law. Our law firm draws on a deep well of experience and expertise in all areas of intellectual property law, specifically within the activities of our patent attorneys and attorneys-at-law. Our areas of expertise include but are not limited to patent law, trademark law, utility model and design patent law, law of employees’ inventions, copyright law, competition law, contract law, as well as mediation.

In addition, we advise comprehensively on all aspects of incorporation of new companies. We advise and represent our clients before the competent authorities and courts up to and including the European Court. We are active on both a national and international level for our foreign and domestic clients.

Our clients include large enterprises having their own patent departments, with whom we engage in constructive cooperation, medium-sized companies, small businesses and individual inventors. In addition, we advise and represent both national and international research facilities.
